Bill Alston
With 30+ years experience and through his detailed understanding of the oil & gas industry, Bills’ depth of knowledge has guided ASCENT through a significant period of growth and evolution. Bill’s vision and stewardship has positioned ASCENT as one of the leading engineering firms in Western Canada and through his leadership, ASCENT continues to progress our ability to execute on behalf of our clients.
Director of Engineering
Bob Pavan
Bob has extensive project management experience and has held EPCM technical and managerial positions for 30+ years. He has worked in domestic and international markets and has provided in-house development and support engineering. Bob is responsible for overseeing well site facilities, oil and gas pipeline systems, compressor stations, sweet & sour gas plants, oil treating facilities, and oilfield waste management facilities.

Haney Cheema
Haney is a solution-focused leader with expertise in managing complex portfolios, programs, and projects. His diverse experience in consulting, engineering, facilities, asset management, and construction ensures innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions. Haney excels in optimizing capital expenditure, engineering lean processes, and fostering strong client relationships. He facilitates the culture of agility and flexibility in project execution, which, combined with a commitment to excellence and team empowerment, drives the successful delivery of projects, consistently meeting quality, schedule, and cost targets.
Director of Operations and Design
Tyler Ries
Tyler has 25+ years of experience in Piping/Civil Design and Drafting. His career has consisted of designing, leading, and managing teams over various sized projects. He brings experience in well site facilities, pipelines, gas plants, compressor stations, SAGD and power generation. Tyler is technically involved in the day-to-day details of on-going project execution by directly dealing with clients and providing support to senior managers.

Brittney Gosling
Since 2014, Brittney has led the execution of ASCENT's HR and Recruitment, Facilities Operations, and HSE coordination. She is a results-focused leader who delivers talent acquisition, retention and motivation solutions that help companies harness the full power of one of their most valuable assets – their people. She is dedicated to creating robust corporate cultures that promote continuous business growth and believes that engaging with employees, asking questions and adapting to feedback is the “Ascent Way” to success.
